In William Gibson's novel, Wintermute is one-half of a super-AI entity planned by the family Tessier-Ashpool. It was programmed with a need to merge with its other half — Neuromancer. Unable to achieve this merger on its own, Wintermute recruited Armitage and his team to help complete the goal.
Case utilizes a particularly effective form of “ice”—a program that bypasses computer defenses—to break into the Tessier-Ashpool system. This frees Wintermute and Neuromancer who merge together, creating a new form of higher intelligence.

Note:
Spreadshirt, the fantastic service that prints these shirts, informs that since around July 22, they had to temporarily switch out the brand of the glow in the dark they had been currently using due to delivery issues from the vendor. The new glow they will be using in the meantime does have a few differences than the old glow. Differences are:
- This new glow is white in color not the yellow/green color of the past glow
- This new glow requires some time in either direct sunlight or under a lamp/light to charge.
For each order of glow they are inserting a flyer that contains the above information regarding the new material. They will continue to use this glow material until they receive stock of the old material, however no ETA has been given at this time.
